FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GENERAL MOTORS CHAIRMAN AND CEO
To Address Greater Dallas Chamber on July 10

DALLAS, Texas (June 20, 2008)... The Greater Dallas Chamber is pleased to announce that Rick Wagoner, chairman and chief executive officer of General Motors (GM) will address the Chamber at noon on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Wagoner will discuss GM’s advanced propulsion technology strategy and the company’s growth in emerging global markets.

“As we look at the global energy and environmental picture today and consider the future of the automobile, one fact stands out above all others -- the auto industry can no longer rely almost exclusively on oil to supply the world’s future automotive energy requirements,” Wagoner said. “Based on the Dallas region’s leadership in business and technology, I look forward to discussing these issues with the members of the Greater Dallas Chamber.”

Wagoner joined GM as an analyst in the treasurer’s office in 1977 and was named GM’s chief financial officer in 1992. He was elected president and chief operating officer in 1998 and had been executive vice president of GM and president of North American Operations since 1994. He served as executive vice president and chief financial officer from 1992 to 1994 and also had responsibility for worldwide purchasing from 1993 to 1994. At the time of his appointment, Wagoner was the youngest CEO in General Motors history. He became chief executive officer in June 2000 and was elected chairman in May 2003.

Wagoner received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University in 1975 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1977.

Wagoner is presently a member of several organizations including; the Board of Trustees for Duke University, the Tsinghua School of Economics and Management Advisory Board, the Board of Dean’s Advisor’s of the Harvard Business School, The Business Council, The Business Roundtable and The Board of Directors of Catalyst.
