DALLAS (January 08, 2009)… The Dallas Regional Chamber's 2009 Annual Meeting Jan. 16 will celebrate 100 years of leadership in public policy and economic development and look ahead to the challenges of a new year.
The meeting will feature remarks by Richard Templeton, Chairman, President and CEO, Texas Instruments Incorporated, this year's presenting sponsor.
This year's theme is "100 Years of Leadership," as 2009 marks the centennial year of the Dallas Regional Chamber. The Chamber invites all members to take part at noon Friday, Jan. 16 at the Fairmont Hotel, 1717 North Akard Street, Dallas.
“The incorporation of the Dallas Regional Chamber 100 years ago came at a pivotal time for the city,” said Richard Templeton. “The chamber’s 2009 centennial recognition is a celebration of its contributions to the growth of our region in years past, present and future. It is also a celebration of the people behind it who, through a demonstrated commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, give reason for great optimism for a bright future for North Texans.”
The Annual Meeting is one of the largest events hosted by the Chamber; guests should reserve sponsorships and tickets today.
Members and leaders will reflect on issues that shaped the year, highlight Chamber accomplishments and discuss upcoming priorities. The agenda includes remarks by 2008 Chairman Robert A. Chereck and 2009 Chairman Robert W. Best.
Chairman Chereck will also present the Chairman's Award in recognition of superlative service by a Chamber volunteer. The award recognizes an individual or group who has guided the organization in setting priorities and seeking future opportunities for the region.
Other special guests include members of Congress, state legislators, city council members, school board trustees, municipal officials, Chamber board members, advisory council members and Chairman's Circle patrons.
