Mobility 2035 (Pg. 46-47)

By: Ryan Tharp, Director of Business Information & Research

If you live in North Texas you may have noticed the large number of transportation projects under construction. The population is expected to grow rapidly in the next 20 years, and regional planners such as the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Regional Transportation Council are hard at work to ensure an efficient network of roads for commuters. A swelling population will place an increased burden on our infrastructure, however proper planning and keen foresight can mitigate many of the potential issues in the future.

One of the strengths of our transportation network is the multiple options we have to get from one point to another. Numerous alternate routes to get from point A to B exist throughout the entire metroplex. In addition to improving efficiencies for cars and trucks, planners are working to increase mobility for rail, bike, and pedestrian forms of transportation. This focus on mobility in the North Texas region is derived from a holistic analysis of transportation issues that affect everyone.
